RoHS Directive

The European directive 2011/65/EU serves to limit the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

It regulates the use and placing on the market of hazardous substances in electrical equipment and electronic components.

On January 3, 2013, Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2) replaced its predecessor, Directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS 1). Both directives are informally abbreviated as RoHS. (English: Restriction of Hazardous Substances)

REACH Regulation

The Regulation (EC, No. 1907/2006, REACH Regulation), is a European regulation on chemicals that came into force on June 1, 2007.

REACH stands for "Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals". As a European regulation, REACH is also directly applicable in all member states.

REACH fundamentally harmonizes and simplifies existing legislation on chemicals.
